Brandteliers was approached by Vakkaru Maldives, a 5-star luxury resort, to create unique brand stories and identities for their food and beverage outlets, spa, and kids' clubs to enhance each guest's experience. Our team worked with Vakkaru to develop a comprehensive storyline for their guest experiences that aligned with the resort's identity and had a unique identity. Following the best practices for hospitality branding, we created separate stories and visuals for each guest experience, including food and beverage and spa treatments. We helped Vakkaru Maldives enhance guest experiences by developing unique identities for each of them, resulting in a more immersive stay.

The project

Brandteliers developed a brand story, and identity called "A Timeless Sanctuary" for Vakkaru Maldives to reflect the brand's positioning platform. The agency understood that the target audience of the resort was guests who wanted to reconnect with nature and enjoy moments of mindfulness with family and loved ones. Brandteliers created the names, brand identity, and appearance of seven different places in Vakkaru Maldives, including Coconut Club, Cabana, Lagon Bar, Merana, Parrotfish Club, Amaany, Isoletta, Onu, and the Vakkaru Reserve. The brand's visual identity stayed natural and unpretentious, reflecting the uncomplicated and everlasting horizon of Maldivian tranquillity. It also included a straightforward, modern line graphic hinting at timelessness and geography.

The Results
Creating a distinct story for each of its outlets has helped Vakkaru Maldives stand out from its competitors by creating distinctive experiences that evoke emotions related to the location. By following best practices for hospitality branding, Brandteliers crafted stories and visuals that aligned perfectly with the resort’s identity while having separate identities. The successful launch of the resort was welcomed by media and celebrity guests, with features in magazines such as Forbes, Telegraph, Hello, Arabian Industry, and Hotelier Middle East. Vakkaru Maldives was recognized as a Favorite Romantic Getaway for International Hotels by Condé Nast Traveler Middle East Readers’ Choice Awards and won Hideaways magazine’s Newcomer of the Year award. With its unique story and positioning, Vakkaru Maldives has become an addition to Global Hotel Alliance’s (GHA) award-winning DISCOVERY loyalty program under the curated “Ultratravel Collection” that features a premium brand of exceptional hotels and resorts worldwide.
