Vakkaru Maldives required a suite of experience brands to support its launch within Baa Atoll. Each venue needed a clear name, identity and tone that reflected the island’s calm character while offering guests distinct moments across dining, wellness and family activities.

Approach

We created an experience framework that reflected the island’s natural rhythm while giving each venue a distinct role in the guest journey.

The work began with a review of guest behaviour, daily movement and atmosphere across the island. This shaped a direction focused on clarity, nature and ease. Names and experience cues were developed for all venues, including Amaany, Onu, Vakku, Isoletta, Cabana, and Lagoon Bar. The identities for Merana Spa, Parrotfish Club and the Organic Garden Experience were shaped with their own tone and visual language. Each name and experience position was chosen to support the mood, purpose and setting of the space, creating a journey that shifted gently throughout the day without breaking the resort’s sense of calm.

The Solution

We developed a full suite of outlet identities that expressed the character of each space while supporting a unified resort experience.

Each venue received its own design system shaped around mood and function. Amaany was given a light and airy character suited to morning rituals. Onu carried a natural, grounded identity with South East Asian cues. Vakku received a refined tone with details inspired by premium grill and flame cooking. Isoletta reflected a warm, family-friendly mood. Cabana and Lagoon Bar carried relaxed daytime energy. For Merana Spa, the identity focused on stillness and restoration. The Parrotfish Club was shaped around playful illustrations and soft forms. The Organic Garden Experience was expressed through natural textures and grounded colour direction. Collateral included menus, spa materials, kids club touch points, table cards, venue signage concepts and garden storytelling pieces. All elements were created to support operational clarity and guest flow from pre-arrival to in-stay.

The Outcome

The experience brands helped define Vakkaru Maldives as a resort shaped by meaningful moments and a strong sense of place.

Guests experienced clear transitions between venues and responded to the ease and character of each outlet. The identities strengthened the storytelling behind every space, supported the pre opening launch and helped position Vakkaru as a calm, thoughtful and naturally inspired destination within the Maldives.
